Capacity Development

Capacity development is a core activity of Samdhana, cross-cutting in the four programs and built into the approaches we take in project implementation. We build on the existing capabilities of individuals and organizations, and support the creation of an enabling environment. The program works to improve knowledge, skills, attitudes, and habits/behaviour by using both traditional and modern knowledge systems and practices.
The CARE Project is an acronym derived from the words Capacity – also pertaining to capabilities, abilities, or skills; Accountable or liable; Respected/respectful; and Educated. It aims to connect IPLC women and youth leaders to improve their adaptive capacity to address the socio-ecological crisis due to climate change and the Covid-19 pandemic.
