Yohanes I Kt Deddy Muliastra
Mapping and Natural Resource Management Specialist

 

Yohanes I Kt Deddy Muliastra is currently the director of PT Serasi Kelola Alam (SEKALA). In this role he has led several major programs, such as the provision of baseline data and base map assessment for Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, the development of SEKALA's Forest Climate Centre, the Palm Oil Timber and Carbon Offset (POTICO) project and the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for spatial planning in Papua province. He has been working on environmental and development issues for more than 21 years, primarily through international agencies, such as World Bank, World Wide Fund for Nature, Department of International Development (DFID), and the European Union. He has wide range of expertise in data collection, analysis and processin, mapping, conservation, forest management, governance, community mapping and land use planning. He has lived and worked in East Kalimantan for 6 years and has worked extensively in Sumatra (including South Sumatra and Jambi), Bali and Papua. is also an active member of the Indonesian Participatory Mapping Network (JKPP), which has over a hundred personal and institutional members from community practitioners, NGOs, academic institutions and government agencies.
