William Sunderlin
Sociologist and Principal Scientist CIFOR

 

William Sunderlin is a sociologist and principal scientist at CIFOR, and heads the GCS research component on projects. He has extensive experience conducting research on developing country forests in relation to poverty and equity, underlying causes of deforestation, population and migration, macroeconomic Dutch disease, the effect of economic crises, and tenure and rights. Currently, he leads the module on REDD+ subnational incentives in CIFOR's Global Comparative Study on REDD+.
